HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

Fatherhood Isn’t a Social Role—It’s a Spiritual Calling

I. The Family Was God’s Idea—Not Ours

Genesis 1:27–28 – God created man and woman in His image and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply.

  • Family existed before the church, before government, before nations.
  • It’s not a cultural construct—it’s a divine institution.
  • When we walk away from God’s design, we invite disorder and regret.

Reflection: Am I treating my family like a spiritual responsibility or a social arrangement?

II. Fatherhood Is About More Than Provision—It’s About Leadership

Ephesians 6:4 – Fathers are called to raise their children in the instruction of the Lord.

  • Providing financially is not the same as leading spiritually.
  • Your kids need your example more than your income.
  • Spiritual neglect has eternal consequences.

Reflection: If my kids only saw God through me, would they know who He is?

III. Family Isn’t Eternal—But It Prepares Us for Eternity

Matthew 22:30 – In the resurrection, there will be no marriage.

  • Earthly families are temporary—but they serve an eternal purpose.
  • A godly family points its members toward salvation.
  • We’re not raising children just for this life—but for the next.

Reflection: Am I raising good citizens or future saints?

IV. The Enemy Attacks the Family Because It Reflects God’s Nature

John 10:10 – The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

  • Satan attacks the family because it mirrors God’s authority and love.
  • Passive leadership gives the enemy room to work.
  • The enemy doesn’t need us to be evil—just indifferent.

Reflection: Am I spiritually guarding my home—or just living in it?

V. Real Fatherhood Requires Submission to the Ultimate Father

1 Corinthians 11:3 – The head of every man is Christ.
John 5:19 – Jesus did only what He saw the Father doing.

  • A man cannot lead his family if he is not led by Christ.
  • Submission to God isn’t weakness—it’s strength under control.
  • Children don’t need a perfect father—they need a surrendered one.

Reflection: Have I submitted my leadership to Christ—or am I still leading in my own strength?

Closing Challenge

  • You don’t need to be perfect. You need to be positioned—under Christ.
  • Your past doesn’t disqualify you. Repentance brings realignment.
  • Don’t wait. Lead now. Submit now.
  • Your kids are watching. Let them see Jesus in you.

Joshua 24:15 – “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
