Luke 2:11 | Isaiah 53:5
Jesus came into this world with the cross in view. His birth demands more than acknowledgment—it demands a response. He died for you. Are you living for Him?
I. The Cradle Was Never the End Goal
Luke 2:11 – “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
– Jesus was Savior at birth—not later.
– The purpose of His coming was already set: to save sinners.
– Celebrating His birth without surrendering to His cross is a hollow celebration.
II. The Cross Was in the Manger’s Shadow
Isaiah 53:5 – “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities…”
– Even the details of His birth pointed toward His death: myrrh, swaddling cloths, a lamb’s stable.
– He was the Lamb of God from the start (John 1:29).
– The cross was never Plan B—it was the reason He came.
III. Salvation Was Personal Before It Was Universal
– Luke 2:11 says “unto you” is born a Savior.
– Isaiah 53:5 says “our transgressions” and “our iniquities.”
– He didn’t die for sin in general—He died for yours.
– If your response isn’t personal, it’s not genuine.
IV. Cultural Christianity Loves Baby Jesus—But Not the Cross
– The world accepts a harmless infant, not a holy King.
– Luke 9:23 – Jesus said, “Take up your cross daily and follow Me.”
– Many want Jesus as a symbol—but not as Lord.
– You cannot receive the gift of Jesus while rejecting His purpose.
V. If He Died for You, Why Aren’t You Living for Him?
– 1 Peter 2:24 – “He bore our sins… that we might live to righteousness.”
– Too many give Him lip service but live for themselves.
– He gave His life for you—so you could live for Him, not just get to Heaven.
VI. The Birth of Jesus Demands a Response
– Everyone responded to Jesus: Mary, Joseph, shepherds, magi, Herod, Pharisees, Pilate.
– Romans 12:1 – “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice…”
– You will respond to Jesus. The question is how.
VII. Invitation to Salvation – What Will Your Response Be?
– John 3:3 – “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
– Romans 10:9 – “Confess with your mouth… believe in your heart… you will be saved.”
– This is not about religion—it’s about repentance.
– Choose Him today—before it’s too late.
