With a heavy heart 💔

According to Terri Hidey, her husband Rich passed away peacefully at home this morning, surrounded by family and friends. His battle with cancer moved quickly, and the loss feels sudden, overwhelming, and deeply painful.

Rich and Terri shared 32 years together—years filled with love, memories, laughter, hardship, and life lived side by side. Rich was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence mattered deeply to those who knew him.

I want to share something small, but telling, about who Rich was.

The first time I met Rich, I had just purchased a Harley-Davidson and stopped into the auto store because something was rattling badly. I didn’t know him at all. Without hesitation, he invited me to his home after work, went digging through boxes in his shed, and handed me parts for my bike—refusing to take a penny. That was Rich. A genuinely good man who helped because he could.

Today, we simply ask for prayer.

Please pray for Terri and the entire family—that God would surround them with comfort, strength, and peace in the midst of their grief. Pray for healing of broken hearts, for rest where exhaustion has settled in, and for steady support in the days ahead as they begin to walk through this loss.

There are moments when words fall short. This is one of them. May love, prayer, and compassion carry this family through the valley they now walk.

Terri, your church family is here if you need anything.

Heavenly Father,

We come to You with hearts that are heavy and broken. We lift Terri and her family into Your care. You see their grief, their shock, and the ache that comes with saying goodbye. Draw near to them in this moment. Be their refuge when the pain feels unbearable, their strength when they feel weak, and their peace when emotions overwhelm.

Wrap this family in comfort that only You can give. Heal what is broken. Sustain them in the days ahead. Surround them with people who will love them well, speak gently, and walk patiently beside them.

We place them in Your hands, trusting that You are near to the brokenhearted and faithful in every season.

Amen.
