INTRODUCTION — The Illusion Unveiled

  • The world is obsessed with dividing people by race.
  • The Bible does not teach race as we define it today.
  • Satan uses division to destroy unity — God calls us back to truth.

I. ONE HUMANITY — GOD’S ORIGINAL DESIGN (Genesis 1:26–27)

  • God made mankind in His image — male and female.
  • All people come from Adam and Eve — one family.
  • There was no race or division in Eden.

Lesson:
Race did not exist in God’s perfect creation. We were united under His authority.

II. DIVERSITY BY DESIGN — NOT DIVISION (Genesis 11:1–9)

  • At Babel, God divided languages, not human worth.
  • Nations and cultures were formed — but still one humanity.
  • Sin scattered people, but God’s redemption gathers them again.

Lesson:
Diversity reflects God’s glory — it was never meant to create human superiority.

III. THE RISE OF RACIAL CONSTRUCTS — MAN’S SINFUL TWIST (Acts 17:26)

  • People used physical differences to assign worth.
  • Science shows race is a social concept — not biological.
  • Pride and power turned differences into divisions.

Lesson:
Racial constructs are man-made — they are not part of God’s design.

IV. REDEMPTION AND RECONCILIATION IN CHRIST (Galatians 3:28, Revelation 7:9, Ephesians 2:14)

  • In Jesus, divisions fall — race, status, and gender do not divide.
  • Heaven will be filled with every tribe, tongue, and nation.
  • Jesus destroys hostility and creates unity.

Lesson:
Only the gospel unites what sin divides.

V. MOVING BEYOND RACE — A CALL TO UNITY (John 17:20–23)

  • Jesus prayed for His followers to be one.
  • Division in the church damages our witness.
  • We must embrace Kingdom identity — not worldly labels.

Lesson:
Unity is essential — it is evidence of true discipleship.

CONCLUSION — EMBRACING OUR SHARED IDENTITY

  • Race is an illusion meant to divide.
  • In Christ, we are one body with one hope.
  • The church must lead the way in love and unity.

Final Challenge:
Reject worldly categories.
Love beyond labels.
Live and lead as one family in Christ.
