Last night, I sat down and watched the movie What Would Jesus Do. It’s not the newest film. It’s not packed with special effects or Hollywood flair. But the simplicity of the message hit me harder than I expected.
The truth is, life is full of decisions. Some big, some small, but all of them shape the kind of person we are becoming. How we talk. How we react. How we treat people. How we spend our time. How we handle success and how we respond to failure. Every day is full of choices — and those choices reflect our heart.
While watching that movie, one simple thought kept pressing on me. What if, before we responded, before we acted, before we made the next decision… we paused and asked, “What would Jesus do?”
Not in a shallow or cliché way. Not as a bracelet slogan or a bumper sticker. But seriously — what would He do if He were standing right where I am standing? What would He say? How would He act? How would He love, correct, serve, or endure?
Because the truth is, Jesus still shows us. He did in the Gospels. He does through His Spirit. He leads by example in every situation we face. And if we really desire to follow Him, then what He would do should shape what we will do.
That’s what this new series is about. For the next 10 days, I’ll be posting short, to-the-point articles, each focusing on a different area of life where we face real decisions. These are not theoretical ideas. These are real-life issues where the world shouts one thing… but Jesus would do another.
Each day will offer perspective. Each day will challenge us to reflect. Not only to ask, “What would Jesus do?” but also to make sure we are willing to do it ourselves.
I invite you to read along each day. More importantly, I invite you to pray that through this series, we would all become a little more like Jesus — not just in word, but in action.
The question isn’t outdated. It’s as fresh and necessary as ever. What would Jesus do? Let’s find out together.
